Admission Requirements

Requirement Description / Documentation Needed
High School Diploma or GED
Provide an official high school diploma, transcript, or GED certificate. International credentials must be evaluated by an approved third-party evaluator for U.S. equivalency.
Proof of English Proficiency
Applicants whose first language is not English must submit official TOEFL or IELTS scores to demonstrate English proficiency.
HESI A2 Entrance Exam
Complete and pass the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) Exam with a minimum composite score of 70%. Exam results must be dated within two (2) years of the application date.
Criminal Background Check (OAC 4723.09)
Submit both BCI (State) and FBI (Federal) background checks. Any disqualifying offenses under OAC 4723-7 will result in ineligibility for admission.
Health Requirements
Provide results of a 1-Step TB test or chest x-ray within one (1) year of admission. Retesting may be required prior to clinical rotations.
Tuberculosis (TB) Test
Provide results of a 1-Step TB test or chest x-ray within one (1) year of admission. Retesting may be required prior to clinical rotations.
CPR Certification
Submit proof of a valid American Heart Association BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers certification before beginning the program.

Application Procedure

Application Form
Complete the official ETOC PN Program Application available online or in person at the Admissions Office.
Application Fee
Submit a non-refundable $50 application fee to cover processing and review costs.
Personal Statement
Submit a 500–700 word essay describing your motivation for pursuing nursing, career goals, and how ETOC’s program aligns with professional aspirations.
Letters of Recommendation
Provide two (2) letters of recommendation from teachers, employers, or healthcare professionals who can attest to your academic ability and character
HESI A2 Exam
Complete and submit official results from the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) Exam showing a composite score of at least 70%
Prerequisite Documentation (if applicable)
Submit official transcripts or certificates for completed healthcare coursework (e.g., Anatomy & Physiology, STNA certification).
Interview
Qualified applicants will participate in an in-person or virtual interview with faculty to assess communication, professionalism, and commitment to nursing.
