Conduct / Dismissal Policy

It is the responsibility of all students to conduct themselves in accordance with ETOC rules and/or policies. ETOC will dully determine whether conduct is ethically acceptable in both the academic and clinical settings.

Disruptive conduct includes but is not limited to:

  1. Sexual Harassment or intimidation of a student, instructor, or staff member.
  2. Verbal and/or physical threatening of a student, instructor, or staff member.
  3. Profanity
  4. Making and/or receiving phone calls/texts during class/lab/clinical.
  5. Talking during lecture(s) and or presentations.
  6. Failure to adhere to the dress code policy.

Any student failing to adhere to all policies and/or procedures will be subject to suspension, expulsion, and/or termination from the program. Failing to make timely tuition payments Is also grounds for expulsion. Appeals to any suspension or termination,mayirk.madelby*Iowing the complaint/grievance procedures.

Entrance Requirements

All Applicants are required to attend an applicant information session, through which the applicant is given an overview of the Practical Nursing Program, Application Packet, and Financial Aid Packet. To be considered for enrollment, the applicant must submit the information listed below (Application Requirements). Financial aid packet must be submitted after the prospective student is officially accepted into the Practical Nursing Program. Each applicant is reviewed on an individual basis by the Admissions Director.

  • Application Requirements
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school graduate & official transcript with a required minimum GPA of 2.0; or official GED results.
  • Prospective students with an online high school transcript/diploma must have a minimum of six academic college-level courses from an accredited college, completed after high school.
  • Pre-entrance exam – reading comprehension and math. Requires a minimum score of 70% on each section to pass. If the applicant does not pass both sections, he/she may not be eligible to retest until the next enrollment period.
  • *ETOC pre-entrance exam scores are non-transferrable.
  • College transcript(s) — official, or a copy of the official transcript.
  • Student Nursing Perspective questionnaire.
  • Proof of Personal/Family Health insurance.
  • Background check (BCI).
  • *BCI report must not contain any convictions other than minor traffic violations, DUI/OVI, and disorderly conduct.
  • *Drug screening: All applicants must submit a drug test through Concentra Medical Center. ETOC has a zero-tolerance policy and drug test results must be negative.
  • Non-refundable $50 fee for applicant file review.

Note: Acceptance into the program is based on criteria, interview, and review.

Applicants will be notified by letter if accepted or if additional documents are needed. The program will admit as many qualified applicants as its resources permit. Applicants’who meet the criteria, but are not admitted, may reapply for the next class.

Following the acceptance into the Practical Nursing Program, all students must submit to the nursing office documentation of:

  1. Physical Examination
  2. 2 Step Mantoux
  3. Hepatitis B, Mumps, Rubeola, Varicella, and Tetanus immunity in accordance with the guidelines published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  4. BLS Certification; including adult, child, and infant resuscitation.

Graduation Requirements

The following criteria listed below must be met for successful completion of the program prior to graduation:

  1. Grade of 75% or higher in all theory/fundamental classes.
  2. Satisfactory throughout all clinical rotation experiences.
  3. Mandatory passing of I.V therapy course/HESI Evolve examination(s).
  4. All required documentation is submitted to Program Director.
  5. Tuition balance paid in full.
